BLACK PEAK

Black Peak and Skinakas, tell me your woes

Loneliness beats at me

Do you wish me to be your companion?

Mitsos Stavrakakis

FORGING

I feel the earth tremble underfoot

It is the wrath of the world forever increasing

HEY MUSICIANS!

Hey Musicians

Get your instruments and tune them to my voice and play for me to sing

to take out all the things I’ve got in my soul,

and the wind will take them to the places where my loves hang out,

so each one of them will hear the things that suit them,

beautiful words and feelings for the ones that loved me,

complaints for the liars,

and when my fantasy party is over, put away your instruments,

because you know what, music never ends.

Mitsos Stavrakakis

EROTOKRITOS (OPENING)

The circle of time that goes up and down

At times goes up high and others down deep

And the times change they never stay stable

In a bad and a good way

And the weapons and the enemies

And the love and what love can do

All this it makes me to start talking

Listen then people so you can tell to the others

In the past in Athens

There were virtues and the ambrosia of learning

And the river of glory there a love was born

And that love written in the heart

Never dissolved in the circle of the times

PRETTY KONDILIES

I will cross the sea and come to meet you my immigrant bird

I missed you so much

In this one life we go through, it’s better to have somebody to love

Than to live like a king

I send you greetings with the nightingale and with the Kotsifas

Who doesn’t tell anybody else

THE FEAST

Son of Sky and Earth

The moon in my embrace

I release my mind

The clouds are my ceiling

The heavy mountains keep me company

And the first star to rise at night waves to me

Mother Earth I kiss you

Father sky I give the moon a ring

And I invite you to the party

Mitsos Stavrakakis
